CEU Among Philippines' Top Universities in THE Impact Rankings 2026, Earns Global Sustainability Recognition

Centro Escolar University (CEU) earned global recognition after placing in the 601–800 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, one of the world's leading assessments of universities' contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Among the 160 participating Philippine higher education institutions (PHEIs), CEU ranked within the top 13.5 percent.

In the 2026 rankings, CEU landed across all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, with notable performance in several key areas: No Poverty – 401-600th; Zero Hunger – 601+; Good Health and Wellbeing – 101-200th; Quality Education – 1001+; Gender Equality – 101-200th; Clean Water and Sanitation – 601+; Affordable and Clean Energy – 601-800th; Decent Work and Economic Growth – 801-1000th; Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – 801+; Reduced Inequalities – 401-600th ; Sustainable Cities and Communities – 601-800th; Responsible Consumption and Production – 401-600th; Climate Action – 601-800th; Life Below Water – 401+; Life on Land 2026 – 401-600th ; Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – 801+; and Partnership for the Goals – 801-1000th .

This year, THE Sustainability Impact Ratings has evaluated 1,646 universities from 116 countries and territories across 17 individual SDG tables and one overall ranking.

The recognition highlights CEU's growing reputation not only for academic excellence but also for the measurable impact of its teaching, research, community engagement, and institutional initiatives in addressing global challenges. As the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings assess universities based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the achievement affirms that CEU's efforts extend beyond the classroom, translating education into meaningful outcomes for society.

Representing CEU at the THE Global Sustainable Development Congress in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the recognition was formally received, were Dr. Teresa R. Perez, Senior Vice President; Dr. Erna V. Yabut, Vice President for Research, Innovation and Institutional Development; Dr. Pearly P. Lim, Vice President for CEU Makati; Dr. Carlito B. Olaer, Vice President for Student Affairs; Dr. Rhoda C.
