When will the  1st semester of SY 2021-2022 start and end?

A

The 1st Sem of SY 2021-2022 will officially start on August 9, 2021 and will end on December 21, 2021

When will the University Orientation be conducted?

A

The University Orientation will be on August 6, 2021. There will be a live streamed Thanksgiving Mass at 10:00 AM followed by a Welcome Program. In addition, there will be a separate orientation to be given by different schools/departments in the afternoon.

What attire will I wear during the orientation and when we meet with our teacher online?

A

For males, shirt with collar. For ladies, top with sleeves, no low-cut tops.

What platform will be used in online learning?

A

All students will use CEU LEAPS (LEARNING ENGAGEMENT AND PROFICIENCY SYSTEM)

What are the minimum requirements for a laptop or desktop for me to go online?

Where do I buy books, manuals needed for different subjects I enrolled in?

A

The CEU Consumers Cooperative store will share the guidelines on how to purchase the books and manuals and the list of available books and manuals including the price, through the help of your program heads who will inform you through your email.

What is the use of the CEU email account given to me?

A

The student is given a CEU email account. All CEU communication, announcements, important activities and messages will be sent through the student official email account. You can also access the CEU LEAPS using your CEU email account.

By blocks, 5 weeks per block with a total of 4 blocks per semester

The schedule of payment of fees by installment is reflected in the COM.

The schedule of examinations per block is provided by the Office of the Registrar and shared by the Program Heads to their respective students. This table also shows the payment schedule and the date of encoding the grades.

Do we need an examination permit before we can take an examination?

 

A

Examination permit is required every block before a student can take the Midterm and Final Examinations. The students must pay two days before the scheduled examination in order to get an examination permit through email.

What is the Grading System to be followed this school year?

A

The grading system is discussed in the Primer and Student handbook. There will be two grading periods--midterm and finals. The class participation grade will be composed of reports, quizzes, assignment, attendance which is multiplied by 2 and the examination is multiplied by 1. The total is divided by 3. The passing grade is from 1 to 3. 3.5 and 4 is conditional and 5 is failed.

What are the cut-off grades for the different subjects?

A

The cut-off grade for GE subjects is 50%, 65% for professional core subjects and 70% for professional subjects.

How will I know my periodic grades and my final grade?

A

You can view your online grades through CARES every grading period including your final grades. It can be accessed using your student portal on the CEU website

How will I know that I am a bonafide CEU student this semester?

 

A

The Office of the University Registrar through the Dean’s Office will provide the student a copy of the Certificate of Matriculation (COM) in pdf format and IDENTIFICATION CARD validation sticker (for old students) and IDENTIFICATION CARD (for new students)

Where do we submit any reports, assignments, research work? 

A

All submissions of requirements should be done in CEU LEAPS.

Are there activities (aside from the academic-related ones) where students can participate online?

A

The Student Affairs Office (SAO), the University Student Council  (USC)-Makati, the Program Heads, and the Guidance and Counseling Section (GCS) are in charge of online activities for the school year such as online competition on dancing, singing, poetry, creativity, gardening, webinar, cooking, etc.
